How Opifera works
You are the bank. Opifera is the ledger and the lesson.
No real money moves, ever
The dollars stay wherever they live today: your account, an envelope, the piggy bank. Opifera has no bank connections and never touches real money. What it holds is the family ledger: every allowance, deposit, and interest payment, kept honest and visible to you and your kids.
You set the rates and pay the interest
A 20% savings rate can look strange next to the 4% a bank pays. It makes sense once you remember one thing: here, you are the bank.
Because kid balances are small, even a generous rate costs you a few dollars a month at most. That is cheap tuition for a lesson many adults never fully learn.
There is no cap. Pick the hill that fits your family and the lesson you want to teach. Interest posts to each kid's ledger automatically.
What your kid gets
Their own login, with just a username and a short PIN. Inside: a savings balance and a spending balance, a growth chart that splits the money they added from the money it earned by itself, savings goals with progress bars, certificates of deposit they can lock money into for a bonus, and badges for the habits worth celebrating.
Setup is two short parts
A short part for you, and a short part together. First you set things up on your own in about five minutes: kids, allowance, rates. Then you sit down with your child, and they make the choices that make it theirs: how much of every dollar to save, a goal to roll toward, maybe a first CD.
